France has strongly condemned Israel’s recent air operations in the southern Beirut region, demanding that Israel be immediately evacuated from all parts of Lebanon.
“Paris appeals to all sides to respect the ceasefire agreement,” a statement issued by the French Foreign Ministry said.
The statement added that “France once again confirms that the surveillance system set up under the ceasefire agreement is set to help all parties tackle the threats and prevent tensions, so that the security and stability of Lebanon and Israel will not be affected.”
The French Foreign Ministry also emphasized that eliminating unauthorized military installations on Lebanon’s territory is primarily the responsibility of the Lebanese Armed Forces, who have the support of the UN Interim Force (Uniform).
