New Matric Scheme of Studies Punjab | Approved Groups, Subjects, Marks & Periods

The updated & New Approved Scheme of Studies for Matric 2026-27 introduces eight study groups under the updated secondary education framework (classes 10th and 9th) of the Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board (PCTB) Now known as Punjab Education & Curriculum, Training, Assessment Authority ( PECTAA Punjab ), Government of the Punjab. The new Matric Scheme of Studies provides important information about subject selection, subject-wise marks distribution, theory and practical examination weightage, and the allocation of weekly teaching periods for Class 9 and Class 10 students. The eight study groups include

1. ICT Tech Group,
2. Applied Computer Science Tech Group,
3. Health Sciences Tech Group,
4. Agriculture Tech Group,
5. Fashion Designing Tech Group,
6. Computer Science Group,
7. Biology Group, and
8. Humanities Group.

Students when passed the Grade 8th standard examination then he / she can choose any one study scheme given above. Detail of Subjects and Marks distribution are available for guidance of students, Parents and Teachers.
