Why Did Israel Turn to the U.S. for a Cease-Fire? Trump’s Big Disclosure on Iran-Israel Conflict

اسرائیل نے جنگ بندی کے لیے امریکا کے آگے ہاتھ کیوں جوڑے؟ ٹرمپ نے بڑا انکشاف کردیا

Washington: U.S. President Donald Trump revealed that in the final two days of the Iran-Israel war, Israel suffered heavy losses.

Iranian ballistic missiles destroyed numerous buildings in Israel. He said that before the war between Iran and Israel escalated, a ceasefire in Gaza was close. The President said that after Iran’s missile attacks, Israel turned to the U.S. for a ceasefire.

“The last two days were very heavy for Israel. Iranian ballistic missiles wreaked havoc in Tel Aviv and several cities; multiple buildings were brought down to the ground.”

He added: although the chances of a direct war between Iran and Israel were rising, a ceasefire in Gaza had been nearly achieved. The President said that Iran’s missile attacks raised questions about Israel’s defence capabilities, after which the U.S. used Tomahawk-technology in a counter-strike. “Israel lacks the ability to possess that level of technology,” he said.

Trump also said that the Iranian nuclear centre at Fordow was attacked and “left nothing but destruction.” He warned: “If Iran resumes uranium enrichment, the U.S. will not hesitate to strike again.” Experts say that diplomatic efforts to reach a ceasefire may speed up in coming days, but for a lasting peace in the region, the U.S., Iran and Israel will need to make extraordinary decisions.

A senior U.S. delegation headed by Vice President J.D. Vance and presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday in Tel Aviv. The aim was to preserve the ceasefire reached last week after the recent Israeli attacks and to bring both parties back to the negotiating table.

Last week, Israel claimed that two Israeli soldiers were killed in an attack by Hamas. In retaliation, Israel fired, and in over 100 airstrikes in Gaza many people lost their lives and the ceasefire was heavily damaged. According to the news agency Reuters, experts and negotiating teams say the real challenges ahead remain: the disarmament of Hamas, how far Israeli troops will withdraw, and who will govern Gaza in the future. Agreement on these large questions is essential, otherwise any temporary peace will not hold.

Residents of Gaza and ordinary people live in fear because border areas are repeatedly reporting shelling and tank fire. Aid and food access are also affected, magnifying humanitarian problems. In some places Israel has carried out operations close to the ceasefire line, and there is confusion over control lines between both sides.

Negotiators aim first to strengthen a safe zone, then move to the next stage: detailed negotiations on sensitive matters such as Hamas’s disarmament and a temporary technical administration. Talks are also expected in Egypt so that the matter advances in an internationally coordinated way. However it is not yet clear whether these efforts will be able to permanently end the tension.
