PMS Age Relaxation 2026: Upper Age Limit Now 32 Years

The Government of Punjab has announced a two-year age relaxation for PMS (BS-17) recruitment through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) Combined Competitive Examination for 2026 and 2027. According to the notification issued by the Services and General Administration Department (S&GAD) on 19 August 2026, the upper age limit for PMS candidates has been relaxed up to 32 years as a special one-time dispensation. The relaxation will apply to PMS recruitment effective from 1 January 2026 to 31 December 2027.

NOTIFICATION

No. SOR-I(S&GAD)9-2/2022.- In exercise of the powers conferred under section 23 of the Punjab Civil Servants Act, 1974 (VIII of 1974), Governor of the Punjab is pleased to make the following amendments in the Punjab Civil Servants Recruitment (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit) Rules, 1976, with immediate effect:

AMENDMENT

In the Punjab Civil Servants Recruitment (Relaxation of Upper Age Limit) Rules, 1976, after rule 3-A, the following shall be added:-

3B. Notwithstanding anything contained in these rules or anything contrary contained in any rules applicable to the post of PMS (BS-17) to be filled through the Punjab Public Service Commission under the Combined Competitive Examination to be conducted in 2026 and 2027, two years age relaxation in upper age limit i.e. up to “32 years” as a special one-time dispensation shall be permissible.

Provided that this age relaxation shall be admissible only for recruitment of the post of PMS (BS-17) which will effect from 1st January, 2026 till 31st December, 2027.
