The spokesperson of Power Division has said that the news of ban on installation of 2 meters of electricity is completely false and misleading, the false news of ban on installation of 2 meters of electricity is a nefarious attempt to spread anxiety among the people.
The spokesman has said that spreading and sharing such false news is a punishable offense under the PICA Act, a second electricity meter at a residential place can still be obtained under prevailing laws.
The power division has said that installation of separate meter is allowed in residential premises which have separate portion, circuit, entrance, separate kitchen. The law was already in place to prevent misuse of electricity and misuse of subsidy and is still in full force.
The spokesman says that the electricity distribution companies should be cooperated in the correct and transparent use of electricity meters.
