Gulf Air plane bomb reported, emergency landing at Kuwait airport

A flight of Bahrain’s national airline, Gulf Air, made an emergency landing at Kuwait International Airport on Sunday after receiving reports of a bomb on board. There were 69 passengers on the plane.
The Directorate General of Kuwaiti Civil Aviation said, ‘After the emergency landing, a full security inspection of the Gulf Air flight was conducted. All passengers were safely evacuated from the plane, and no injuries were reported.
“All passengers have been moved to a separate lounge and are doing well,” aviation spokesman Abdullah Al-Rajhi said in a statement.
Precautionary measures were taken with the Ministry of Interior and concerned authorities to ensure the safety of the passengers and crew and to protect the aircraft from any danger.
The spokesperson further said that flight operations at Kuwait Airport were not affected by the emergency landing.
According to Kuwaiti media, the security authorities have detained the person who gave false information about the bomb in the plane after the investigation and legal action is being taken against him.
