Governor Punjab make amendment in Pension Rules 1974 and revised the rules again on today. After this amendment, it is clear that the proportionate pension and commutation are unchanged i.e. 65:35 and also at the running basic pay as per his last pay drawn.

The Confusion about the Pension and Gratuity is clear. After this letter all employees note that the Pension and Commutative formula does not changed.

Amendment in Pension Rules

In exercise of Powers conferred under Section 23 of the Punjab Civil Servant Act , 1974, Governor of the Punjab pleased to make following amendment in the Punjab Civil Services Pension Rules , with immediate effect:

Amendment in Pension Rules:

In the Punjab Civil Services Pension Rules, for Rule 6.1. The following amendment shall be substituted:

“When a Government Servant is likely to retire before his pension can be finally assessed and sanctioned in accordance with the rules, accounts office =s are authorized to make anticipatory pension @65% of basic pay as per his last pay drawn and having length of qualifying Service available as per Accounts Offices’ record, For a period of one year

Note 1: After expiry of stipulated period of one year, anticipatory pension allowed to such a retiree shall be discontinued,

Note (2): The Pension Sanction Authority shall be responsible to complete pension papers of such retiree within a period of six months from the date of retirement.”
