School Education department want to establish the Environmental Societies in schools across the Punjab. Department also want to make a focal person from each district which is not less than the District Education Officer ( DEO ). The officers also want to nominate a SMOG focal person in each district.
SUBJECT- CREATION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SOCIETIES IN SCHOOLS OF PUNJAB AND ALSO NOMINATE A FOCAL PERSON FOR SMOG IN DISTRICT NOT LESS THAN DISTRICT EDUCATION OFFICER (DEO)
Kindly refer to this department office letter No. SO(A-03-6/2022, dated 7 September, 2023 regarding subject matter wherein it was directed that Environmental Societies may be created in all educational institutions but the compliance report is still awaited.
2. I am therefore, once again directed to request you to create Environmental Societies in all education institutions and compliance report may be furnished to this department within 03 days positively. Moreover, each CEO (DEA) is also directed to nominate a SMOG focal person at district level, not less than DEO and also send the detail of focal person as per given format:
