Teachers Alert for all type of Leaves
The Government of Punjab, School Education Department, has issued new instructions dated 5th November 2026 regarding the optimal utilization of teachers and head teachers’ services and the placement of teachers availing leave beyond 89 days. Under the new Punjab Teachers Leave Policy 2026, teachers exceeding 89 days of leave, including Leave Preparatory to Retirement (LPR), may be placed at the disposal of the concerned CEO (DEA) or Department, except in cases of maternity and Iddat leave. The notification also introduces instructions regarding leave applications exceeding 15 days, fresh posting through the SIS Portal, the Awaiting Posting status, Student Teacher Ratio (STR), and salary protection. These instructions have been issued to ensure effective teacher management, administrative discipline and uninterrupted academic activities across government schools in Punjab. اہم اطلاع برائے تمام اساتذہ کرام
محکمہ سکول ایجوکیشن پنجاب کی جانب سے 05 نومبر 2026ء کو طویل رخصت کے حوالے سے نئی ہدایات جاری کی گئی ہیں۔ آسان الفاظ میں اہم نکات درج ذیل ہیں:
1. پندرہ دن سے زائد چھٹی: ایک ہی وقت میں 15 دن سے زیادہ چھٹی لینے کی حوصلہ شکنی کی جائے گی، البتہ جائز اور ضروری وجوہات پر چھٹی مل سکتی ہے۔
2. ننانوے دن سے زائد چھٹی: جو اساتذہ 89 دن سے زیادہ چھٹی پر ہیں، بشمول ایل پی ار، ان کی پوسٹنگ متعلقہ CEO (DEA) یا محکمہ کے سپرد کر دی جائے گی۔ Maternity اور Iddat Leave اس سے مستثنیٰ ہیں۔
3. نئی پوسٹنگ: ایسے اساتذہ کو سیس پورٹل پر نئی پوسٹنگ کے لیے درخواست دینا ہوگی۔ انہیں صرف ایسے سکولوں میں تعینات کیا جائے گا جہاں اساتذہ کی ضرورت ہو۔
4. مختلف اوقات میں چھٹیاں: اگر کوئی استاد سال کے دوران وقفے وقفے سے چھٹیاں لے اور ان کی مجموعی مدت 89 دن سے بڑھ جائے تو اس کی پوسٹنگ بھی CEO (DEA) یا محکمہ کے سپرد کر دی جائے گی۔
5. پندرہ نومبر 2026 آخری تاریخ: جو اساتذہ تین ماہ سے زائد چھٹی پر ہیں اور اپنی چھٹی منسوخ کروا کر اسی سابقہ سکول میں واپس آنا چاہتے ہیں، وہ 15 نومبر 2026ء تک رپورٹ کر سکتے ہیں۔ (LPR، Maternity اور Iddat Leave شامل نہیں ہیں۔)
6. تنخواہ کے متعلق: کسی بھی استاد کی تنخواہ بند یا متاثر نہیں ہوگی۔ انہیں تنخواہ کی ادائیگی کے لیے ضرورت سے زائد اساتذہ کی خالی آسامیوں پر ایڈجسٹ کیا جائے گا۔
7. سیس پورٹل اپڈیٹ: محکمہ ایک ہفتے کے اندر سیس پورٹل پر نیا ماڈیول فراہم کرے گا تاکہ اساتذہ کی نئی پوسٹنگ اور تنخواہ کا عمل جاری رہ سکے۔
تمام اساتذہ کرام ان ہدایات کو غور سے پڑھیں اور متعلقہ امور میں مقررہ تاریخوں کی پابندی کریں۔

I am directed to refer to the instructions regarding sanction of leave issued by Govt. of the Punjab, Services & General Administration Department bearing No. SI.2-39/2016 dated 20.08.2026 and to state that it has been observed that academic activities are being affected adversely due to availing the leaves by teachers as well as head teachers, for periods exceeding eighty-nine (89) days, particularly LPR, which causes administrative bottlenecks.
In order to ensure optimal utilization of teaching staff, maintenance of administrative discipline and facilitation of smooth academic activities under Article 25-A of the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973, the Competent Authority has been pleased to direct strict implementation of the following measures in the larger public interest.
Leave requests, beyond 15 days at a stretch, shall be discouraged in any case, unless based on genuinely justified grounds.
Teachers availing leave beyond 89 days including LPR shall be placed at the disposal of CEO (DEA) concerned / Department (as the case may be), except “Maternity” and “Iddat” leave. The CEO (DEA) concerned or the Department shall tag them as “Awaiting Posting” and the teachers shall apply on SIS for fresh posting. Their posting shall be made only in those schools where teachers are required as per Student Teachers Ratio (STR).
In case a teacher avails leave in parts and his/her leave exceeds 89 days in an academic year, his/her services shall also be placed at the disposal of concerned CEO (DEA) / Department, whichever is applicable.
Teachers presently availing leaves for more than three months and want to cancel their leave (except LPR, “Maternity” and “Iddat” leave) to retain their present place of posting may report back till 15.11.2026.
Salary of teachers placed at the disposal of CEO (DEA) concerned or Department shall not be disturbed. They shall be adjusted for pay purpose against vacant posts where teachers are not required as per STR.
Director General (M&E) shall ensure provision of updated module on SIS portal for the said purpose within a week and ensure their continuation of their salary.
I am, therefore, directed to request you to ensure compliance and disseminate above direction to all concerned for strict compliance in letter and spirit.
