(PART – I)
Q.2: Write short answers.(6×2=12)
(i)Write the example of floor division, modulus and power operator.
Floor division: 10 // 3 gives 3.
Modulus: 10 % 3 gives 1.
Power: 2 ** 3 gives 8.
(ii)What is compound assignment operator give example.
A compound assignment operator combines an arithmetic operation with assignment in one step. Example: x += 5 means x = x + 5. Others are -=, *=, /=.
(iii)Define Comparison operator.
Comparison operators compare two values and give a result of True or False. They are ==, !=, >, <, >=, <=. Example: 5 > 3 gives True.
(iv)How do you get user input in Python?
By using the input() function, e.g. name = input("Enter name: "). For numbers, convert it: age = int(input("Enter age: ")).
(v)Why are comments important in programming?
Comments explain what the code does, make it easier to read and understand, help in debugging and later changes, and are ignored by the interpreter. In Python they start with #.
(vi)Describe the difference between integer and float data types in python.
Integer (int): whole numbers without a decimal point, e.g. x = 10.
Float: numbers with a decimal point, e.g. y = 3.14.
(PART – II)
☆ Write a detailed answer.(5)
Q.3:What are arithmetic operators in python. Provide examples of each operator and explain when you would use them.
Arithmetic operators perform mathematical calculations on numbers.
OperatorNameExampleUse
+Addition5 + 2 = 7Totals, sums
-Subtraction5 - 2 = 3Differences, change
*Multiplication5 * 2 = 10Price × quantity
/Division5 / 2 = 2.5Exact result with decimals
//Floor division5 // 2 = 2Whole-number part of a division
%Modulus5 % 2 = 1Remainder, even/odd check
**Power2 ** 3 = 8Squares, cubes, exponents
