12 million Tree plantation campaign 2024 in Punjab schools

Punjab govt launch a spring campaign for Tree Plantation 2024. Each Student can plant one sapling and one Teacher Plant 01 sapling. almost 3 lac Teachers working in Schools and one crore students in Public Schools. So if each student and teacher can plant a sapling than more than one crore and thirty lac trees will planted in Punjab.

SPRING TREE PLANTATION CAMPAIGN, 2024
Kindly find enclosed herewith a copy of the letter received from Chief Secretary, Punjab vide No PS/CS/46/2024, dated 11th March, 2024 regarding subject cited above.

2. I am directed to inform that Tree Plantation Campaign has been started with great zeal & zest, being a noble cause. In this campaign, both teachers and students are taking an active part. According to the designed workable strategy, targets have been set for both teachers as well as students. Each teacher will plant 01 sapling in the month of March. In the same manner, each student from class 3 onward of public schools will also be encouraged to plant 01 sapling too (copy enclosed). It is also pertinent to mention that young tree will be cared by the student who has planted it and tend to it as well.

A cardboard or wooden plaque bearing the child’s name will be affixed with the plant to give recognition to the student for his contribution in this important national cause. It will be a great endeavour to combat pollution related issues especially SMOG and contribute a cleaner healthier environment for future generations.

3. You are therefore, requested to ensure the above said directions in true letter and spirit.
