FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE FAMILY OF A CIVIL SERVANT WHО DIES WHILE IN SERVICE

حکومت پنجاب کا سرکاری ملازمین کے دورانِ سروس وفات پا جانے کی صورت میں ان کے خاندان کو مالی امداد دینے کا فیصلہ

اس کے اہل قرار پانے والے افراد درج ذیل ہیں:

1. مرد ملازم کی صورت میں اُس کی بیوی یا بیویاں۔

2. خاتون ملازم کی صورت میں اُس کا شوہر۔

3. مرحوم کے بچے:

بیٹا اگر 24 سال سے کم عمر ہو۔

بیٹی اگر غیر شادی شدہ ہو۔

4. مرحوم کے جسمانی یا ذہنی معذور بچے (عمر کو دیکھتے ہوئے)۔

In continuation of this Department’s letter bearing No.FD.SR-I/3-10/2004, dated 15.08.2007 and this Department’s letter No. No.FD.SR-1/3-10/2004, dated 15.08.2017, amended from time to time, on the subject cited above and in pursuance of approval of the Provincial Cabinet in its 28th meeting held on 05.08.2025, it has been decided to detach the ‘entitlement for grant of Financial Assistance Package’ from the provisions of Rule 4.10 of the Punjab Civil Services Pension Rules w.e.f. 02.12.2024, by declaring the following family members eligible for in-service death Financial Assistance Package:

i. A wife or wives in case of a male civil servant.

Husband in case of a female civil servant.

iii. Children of the deceased civil servant, in case of son below the age of 24 years, and unmarried daughter.

iv. Physically / mentally handicapped children of the deceased civil servant without considering their age.

This document from the Government of the Punjab’s Finance Department outlines changes to the ‘Financial Assistance Package’ for families of civil servants who die while in service.

Key Decision: The entitlement for financial assistance is now detached from Rule 4.10 of the Punjab Civil Services Pension Rules, effective December 2, 2024.

Approved by: This change was approved by the Provincial Cabinet in its 28th meeting on August 5, 2025.

Eligible Family Members: The eligible family members for this package include the spouse (wife/husband), children (sons under 24 and unmarried daughters), and physically/mentally handicapped children of any age.
