The Government of the Punjab, School Education Department has announced the opening of the e-Transfer Round for Merit-Based Posting of Qualified Candidates as Headmasters, Senior Headmasters and Principals (Male & Female) in public schools. According to the notification dated 1st September 2026, the e-Transfer round will remain open from 01.09.2026 to 04.09.2026 for submission of preferences by qualified candidates. The department has also clarified specific conditions for Secondary School Teachers (Computer Science/BS-16) who wish to opt for posting as Headteachers. QR-coded posting orders may be generated/issued on 04.09.2026, while SSTs (BS-16) will not be posted outside their respective districts.

I am directed to refer to the subject cited above and to state that the Competent Authority has desired to undertake the process for merit-based posting of qualified candidates as Headteachers (male & female) in public schools.
2. I am further directed to request that the e-Transfer round may be opened w.e.f. 01.09.2026 to 04.09.2026 for submission of preferences by the qualified candidates for merit-based posting as Headteachers. The QR-coded posting orders may be generated/issued on 04.09.2026. However, the Secondary School Teachers (Computer Science/BS-16) are allowed to opt for posting as Headteacher only in the following cases:
- In the same school where the SST(CS) is presently posted, provided that the post of Headteacher is vacant; OR
- In another school where both the posts of SST (CS) and Headteacher are vacant.
N.B: SSTs (BS-16) will not be posted outside his/her district. Moreover, no transfer/posting will be made where bye-elections have been announced by Election Commission of Pakistan.
3. The matter may kindly be accorded Top Priority so that the process is completed within the stipulated timeline.
