Big NEWS: Punjab govt Abolishes 30,391 vacant posts in school education from BPS-1 to BPS-16
The Government of Punjab has officially approved the abolition of 30,391 vacant posts in the School Education Department and its attached departments across the province. This decision was announced through a formal notification issued by the Finance Department on April 20, 2026.
According to the order (SO(SCHOOLS)14-217/2023), the abolished positions range from Basic Pay Scale (BPS) 01 to BPS-16. These posts had remained vacant for a considerable period and were identified as part of a broader effort to streamline government expenditures and improve administrative efficiency.
The notification states that the primary objective behind this move is to reduce the increasing financial burden on the public exchequer. By eliminating long-vacant positions, the government aims to better allocate resources and ensure optimal utilization of existing staff within the education sector.
Officials have indicated that this step is part of ongoing fiscal reforms intended to control unnecessary spending while maintaining service delivery standards. لاہور (نمائندہ خصوصی): حکومتِ پنجاب کے محکمہ خزانہ نے ایک اہم فیصلہ کرتے ہوئے محکمہ تعلیم اور اس کے ذیلی اداروں میں موجود 30,391 خالی آسامیوں کو ختم کرنے کی منظوری دے دی ہے۔ اس حوالے سے باضابطہ نوٹیفکیشن بھی جاری کر دیا گیا ہے۔جاری کردہ حکم نامے کے مطابق یہ تمام آسامیاں BPS-01 سے BPS-16 تک کی تھیں جو طویل عرصے سے خالی پڑی تھیں۔ حکام کا کہنا ہے کہ اس اقدام کا مقصد سرکاری خزانے پر بڑھتے ہوئے بوجھ کو کم کرنا اور موجودہ عملے کو مؤثر انداز میں استعمال میں لانا ہے۔محکمہ خزانہ کے مطابق اس فیصلے سے نہ صرف مالی وسائل کی بچت ہوگی بلکہ اداروں میں کارکردگی کو بھی بہتر بنایا جا سکے گا۔ اس اقدام کو سرکاری سطح پر انتظامی اصلاحات کا حصہ قرار دیا جا رہا ہے۔نوٹیفکیشن کی نقول متعلقہ حکام کو ارسال کر دی گئی ہیں جن میں اکاؤنٹنٹ جنرل پنجاب، تمام ڈسٹرکٹ اکاؤنٹس آفیسرز اور ٹریژری آفیسر لاہور شامل ہیں تاکہ اس فیصلے پر فوری عمل درآمد یقینی بنایا جا سکے۔ماہرین کے مطابق یہ فیصلہ مستقبل میں نئی بھرتیوں کے امکانات پر اثر انداز ہو سکتا ہے، جبکہ دوسری جانب حکومت کا مؤقف ہے کہ اس سے نظام میں بہتری آئے گی اور وسائل کا ضیاع کم ہوگا۔
