Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) Coordination:
All Chief Executive Officers, District Education Authorities, in Punjab have already been briefed and guided on this matter during a Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) meeting held on the same day.
Ensuring Smooth Implementation:
Close coordination between District Administrations and Education Authorities is emphasized to ensure the smooth implementation of these directives.
پنجاب میں سکولز کو سیلابی صورتحال کے پیش نظر بند کرنے کا مکمل اختیار ڈپٹی کمشنر کو دے دیا گیا یاد رہے کہ پنجاب میں اس وقت بہت سارے سکول ایسے ہیں جن میں پانی کھڑا ہوا ہے اور وہ دریا کے کناروں پر واقع ہے ایسے سکول ان اضلاع میں موجود ہیں جہاں پر ابھی سیلابی صورتحال کے پیش نظر کسی بھی قسم کی چھٹیاں نہیں کی گئیں جس کی وجہ سے حکومت پنجاب کو یہ اختیارات ڈپٹی کمشنر کو دینا پڑے تاکہ وہ سکولز یا وہ علاقے وہ گاؤں جن میں اس وقت سلابی پانی موجود ہے یا سرکاری یا پرائیویٹ سکولوں کے اندر سیلابی پانی کھڑا ہوا ہے ان کو سیلابی صورتحال کی وجہ سے چھٹیاں دینے کا مکمل اختیار ڈپٹی کمشنر صاحبان کو دے دیا گیا ہے اور وہ اپنے اپنے علاقے کی صورتحال کو مد نظر رکھ کر چھٹیوں کا اعلان کریں گے اور ان سکولز کو بند کر دیں گے دیں گے جب صورتحال بہتر ہوگی تو نوٹیفکیشن کے ذریعے ان سکولز کو دوبارہ کھول دیا جائے گا
Subject: EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES IN SCHOOLS OF FLOOD AFFECTED AREAS IN PUNJAB
I am directed to refer to the above captioned subject and to state that in the aftermath of recent floods across various districts of Punjab, many schools have been severely affected and in certain areas water is still stagnant within school premises.
2. I am further directed to state that Deputy Commissioners in their capacity as Chairman of District Education Authorities (DEAs) may notify vacations in affected schools keeping in view the ground realities until the situation comes back to normal.
3. I am also directed to reiterate that all Chief Executive Officers, District Education Authorities, in Punjab have already been sensitized and guided in this regard during Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) meeting held today. Close coordination between District Administrations and Education Authorities must be ensured for smooth implementation of these directions.
