STRICT ADHERENCE TO THE PROVISIONS OF E-TRANSFER POLICY 2024

The Punjab School Education Department has issued a new strict directive enforcing the E-Transfer Policy 2024, requiring teachers to complete his / her academic responsibilities before transferring via the SIS Portal. This move ensures accountability and smooth transitions across public schools.

I am directed to refer to the subject cited above and to invite your attention to para 9.2 of the e-Transfer Policy, 2024, which stipulates as under:

STRICT ADHERENCE TO THE PROVISIONS OF E-TRANSFER POLICY 2024

Notwithstanding anything contrary to the provisions of the policy, all teachers shall be eligible to apply for transfer against their desired vacant posts on SIS Portal including those teachers who have completed three years‘ service in a school having high Student Teacher Ratio (STR) subject to the evaluation criteria laid down hereinunder and provisions laid down in paras 9.4 1(i)(b), 9.4.2 and 9.4.3 of the policy. However, the transfer shall be actualized upon completion of each term. The transferred teacher shall be required to complete his/her assigned tasks e.g. written assessment, result compilation and parent teacher meeting. The transferred teacher shall submit a certificate to Head of the school regarding completion of assigned tasks.The Head teacher shall process charge relinquish of transferred teacher on SIS Portal.”

I am further directed to state that it has been observed that the above-referred provisions of the policy ibid are not being complied with in true letter & spirit as the transferred teachers do not provide requisite certificates to the concerned headteachers, resulting in disruption of academic activities and administrative difficulties at school level.

I am, therefore, directed to request you to ensure strict compliance of the provisions of para 9.2 of the e-Transfer Policy, 2024 in all cases within your respective jurisdiction. This may be brought to the notice of all heads of schools and concerned officers for meticulous compliance. In case of any non-compliance or deviation tom the prescribed procedure, the Chief Executive Officer (DEA) concerned shall be heldresponsible Any such lapse shall be viewed seriously by the Department.

Punjab Government Reinforces E-Transfer Policy 2024 for Teachers

Lahore, January 5, 2026 — The School Education Department of Punjab has issued a directive mandating strict adherence to the E-Transfer Policy 2024. This move aims to streamline teacher transfers via the SIS Portal, ensuring academic continuity and administrative discipline across public schools.

According to the latest notification, teachers who have served three years in high Student-Teacher Ratio (STR) schools are now eligible to apply for transfers. However, the process hinges on compliance with policy clauses 9.2, 9.4.1(i)(b), 9.4.2, and 9.4.3.

Before relinquishing charge, transferred educators must complete essential tasks such as student assessments, result compilation, and parent-teacher meetings. A completion certificate must be submitted to the Head Teacher, who will then process the transfer on the SIS Portal.

Non-compliance has led to disruptions in school operations. The department warns that any deviation will be dealt with seriously, holding the respective Chief Executive Officer (DEA) accountable.
