SUBJECT: Request for Consideration of MA Education Qualification for Promotion

Reference your letter No. SO(S-V)SED/6-3/2019 dated 01.04.2021 on the subject no. above.

2. The Regulations Wing, S&GAD has examined the matter and it is observed that the decisions of the Qualification Equivalence Determination Committee (QEDC) meeting dated 30.09.2020 are clear about equivalence of MA. (Education) to M.Ed in comparison with B.Ed as the syllabus of MA (Education) covers more than the requirements of M.Ed. Therefore, the teachers, recruited In School Education Department for the subject of Education by having M.A. (Education), shall not require any further qualification of B.Ed. or M.Ed. Hence, the Administrative Department is advised to move a case for amendment in the service rules in line with the decisions of QEDC meetings dated 30.09.2020 & 11.11.2020 vis-a-vis reflection of degrees in the service rules before making promotions against BS-18 posts.
